T-Mobile Expands 3G Coverage

With the impending arrival of their Android-powered G1, T-Mobile USA has announced that it’s planning to expand its 3G coverage area by an additional 8 areas, in addition to the existing 13 areas.

The new areas include Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle, with the UMTS/HSDPA network capable of download speeds up to 1Mbps. T-Mobile plans to have 27 US areas (which include Birmingham, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis and Tampa) with 3G coverage by the end of 2008.
